The family business began in 1969 when Malcolm and Margaret Stewart purchased their first rigid tipping vehicle which was driven by Malcolm as an owner driver delivering materials to Ready Mixed Concrete plants in the North West area. Malcolm and Margaret expanded their fleet and they delivered thousands of tonnes of materials to the various RMC plants.  Ready Mixed Concrete, the leading producer of concrete in the UK, was for many years the biggest customer of M.C. and M.A. Stewart (Haulage) Ltd.

Their daughter Rachel joined the company in the early 1990s and the company broadened it’s horizons, expanding it’s customer base, developing product knowledge and sourcing a wide variety of materials nationwide.

The wealth of experience they have gained over the years and the knowledge they have acquired through their dealings with many different suppliers enables them to give their customers a good choice of materials to suit their particular need at a competitive price. They can offer their customers materials delivered by rigid or articulated vehicle, materials delivered in bags by pallets, and materials in bulk bags delivered by a grab vehicle.
